Oryx and Crake: my review

Finished book review by: Kate

Book written by: Margaret Atwood
Total number of pages: 374 pages

Genre: Science fiction/dystopian
My rating: *, didn’t like it

A brief summary of my book:
In Oryx and Crake, the narrator Snowman (previously called Jimmy) tells about his life before what we know as a big apocalypse happened. He takes care of humanlike creatures called Crakers and lives all alone, only thinking about his life. He had many friends growing up like Crake and Oryx (he meets her later), but he has family problems and is never really happy.

What I thought about this book:
In my opinion, this book is not good because it is very confusing, and it doesn’t have much of a plot because Snowman describes things that are unnecessary to describe, but then barley touches on important things. I find Atwood’s writing style to be very confusing and it takes almost 2/3 of the book to get to the story.
