If You Find Me: my review

Finished book review by: Mrs. Hallet

Book written by: Emily Murdoch
Total number of pages: 256

Genre: Realistic fiction
My rating: ****, really liked it

A brief summary of my book:
Fifteen year-old Carey was left by her drug-addicted mother to fend for herself and her little sister Jenessa in a remote corner of the Tennessee forest. For years they’ve been scrounging by, surviving however they can, hidden away from the world and the father who abused them. Now they’ve been found, and forced to return to their father’s house, where a stepmother and stepsister wait. This is a beautiful story of the bond between two sisters, family secrets, self-reliance and learning to live again.

Three words that describe my book:
haunting, full of love, shocking

The kind of person I’d recommend this book to:
someone who likes stories of troubled families and relationships, lyrical writing
