Hillenbrand not only describes the life of the horse, but also the massively influential and important people surrounding him, including the horse’s jockey, owner, and trainer. Seabiscuit is the story of an underdog that rises to the pinnacle of horse racing through hard work and determination while giving hope to millions of Americans throughout the country.
