American Born Chinese: my review

Finished book review by: Mardon

Book written by: Gene Luen Yang
Total number of pages: 233

Genre: Graphic novel/comic/manga
My rating: ***, liked it

A brief summary of my book:
Jin Wang moves over a neighborhood and is forced to move to a new school where he’s treated as a stereotypical Asian. Jin has no friends and always gets bullied until one day a new student arrives at the school, who also speaks Chinese and pretty soon they become best friends. The friendship lasts into high school, when girl trouble comes along and Jin decides to face it.

Three words that describe my book:
Weird, Confusing, Funny

The kind of person I’d recommend this book to:
A reader who likes the unexpected, confusion through out the book, cliff hangers, and art.
